With the objective of raising funds to ensure the continuation of our projects, on the 15th December 2011, together with Invest for Children, we celebrated the first ‘Together for Integration’ day in Barcelona.

The aim of the day was to raise funds for different projects run by both foundations, focusing on the social integration of children with intellectual disabilities. In the case of the RafaNadal Foundation, the funds raised were donated to the Integration and Sport program, held in collaboration with AldeaInfantiles SOS.

It is worth highlighting the support we received from the sponsors, who made Together for Integration become a reality: Richard Mille, Mapfre, KIA, United Postcode Lotteries, as well as IESE, Banesto, Babolat, Investindustrial, Indcresa, Nike, Inaer, Lottusse, Emporio Armani and Port Aventura.

The ‘Together for Integration Day’ began with a tennis championship held at the Real Club de Tenis de Barcelona, at which representatives from sponsoring companies were able to play alongside Rafa and other tennis stars such as Richard Krajicek, SergiBruguera, JordiArrese and Emilio Sánchez Vicario.

In the evening, the event continued at the Palau Nacional de Catalunya with a gala dinner, attended by more than 300 invited guests, the actresses Nastassja Kinski and Paz Vega and the actor Freddie Highmore who came from far away to support this initiative. We were also pleased to welcome the Generalitat de Catalunya President’s Wife, Helena Rakosnik, the forth Deputy Mayor, Maite Fandos, as well as some friends such as Richard Mille, Raoul Picello, Antonio Núńez de Tovar, Frank Leeman, Albert Costa or Sete Gibernau, among others.

It really was a special day which let us bring the real life of children who live in vulnerable situations closer to a lot of people.
