Special Olympics Spain has large projects dedicated to social integration of people with intellectual disabilities, including More than Tennis, promoted jointly with Rafa Nadal Foundation. Another project is developed at Centro Vértice, from the Fundación José Luis Zazurca, in Zaragoza, dedicated to the care and protection of people with disabilities, contributing to their personal and social development.

Rafa Nadal Foundation, which was warmly welcomed by all the Fundación José Luis Zazurca team, met workshops and facilities of Centro Vértice, visiting for the first time the residence for orphan people with disabilities or that require special attention. It stands out the affection that the workers have at the moment of caring their beneficiaries. During the visit, the centre managers explained “the need to offer a warranty to families that their son, daughter, brother… won’t be left unprotected”.

Ana María Parera, Rafa Nadal Foundation President, could see firsthand the importance of these young people share spaces and live with other people. Fundamentally, this experience let them become more autonomous and feel useful.
