During the past academic year, the Rafa Nadal Foundation has implemented its first independent project, offering education through sporting practice to socially disadvantaged children and young people from Palma de Mallorca. Complementary to formal schooling, this educational program uses sport as a fundamental tool and vehicle to foster values such as friendship, respect and hard work.

Throughout the 2014-2015 school year, the program was carried out in municipal facilities, with a total of 82 children and young people participating. Meanwhile, construction has been taking place on the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre, which will be inaugurated in time for the next semester, and will cater for a capacity of 200 direct beneficiaries and their families. Located in the Nou Llevant neighbourhood on grounds provided by the local authorities, the centre will include classrooms, a multi-sports court and rooms for teaching and play.
