Study and Play: University scholarships

STUDY AND PLAY

Since 2015, the Rafa Nadal Foundation is implementing a new ‘Study and Play’ project, which is being held parallel to our sport and education programs for children and young people that are disadvantaged or at risk of social exclusion.

Thanks to the support of the leading Spanish food supplement manufacturer Drasanvi - firm believers in the importance of sporting values - this new project offers dedicated young sports people the opportunity to access scholarships at North American universities, where they can continue studying and competing at the same time.

Taking part in this program could influence the present and future of these youngsters, removing the need to choose between studying and continuing their sporting careers. The Rafa Nadal Foundation, through our collaboration with Drasanvi, offers the tools to obtain a university scholarship, taking into account both your academic and sporting levels. Created in 2003, I-Con Sports is a Spanish company devoted to the incorporation of athletes at universities in the United States, identifying the best opportunities and securing the best possible sports scholarships, which in some cases can cover the student’s costs in full.

The Project

The Rafa Nadal Foundation, Drasanvi and I-Con Sports join forces in the hope that more young Spaniard can have the opportunity to continue athletic training and competition, regardless of their sport, at the same time as studying their chosen academic course at one of the North American universities.

Together we contribute to more athletes are able to take advantage of these scholarships, providing financial assistance to those that do not receive a full scholarship from the university and minimising the cost for those students in need. In this sense, the Rafa Nadal Foundation subsidises athletes that have clear difficulties to pay their costs.
