On November 9, 2024, the Nadal Educational and Tennis School (NETS), a project developed by the Rafa Nadal Foundation and the Vicente Ferrer Foundation in Anantapur, India, celebrated its 14th Anniversary. This date marks more than a decade of commitment and support for vulnerable children.
With the attendance of 225 young participants, along with coaches, volunteers, and NETS staff, the event became a true celebration of sports, joy, and resilience.
The day began at 5 p.m., with participants dividing into groups to enjoy ten activities and games organized specially for the occasion, spread across the five tennis courts at NETS.
Throughout the afternoon, everyone was immersed in an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie, where laughter and enthusiasm filled the air as participants encouraged each other. These games not only provided an opportunity for the children to enjoy themselves, but they also reinforced essential values that the project focuses on daily.
A week before the event, NETS organized a tennis tournament at three different skill levels. The children were grouped according to their abilities and competed in a series of matches full of effort and dedication. For many, it was a chance to showcase their progress from the past year in a friendly competitive setting.
The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony where all the students, volunteers, and NETS staff gathered. During this special moment, awards were given to the tournament winners, and six students received recognition for their consistent attendance at summer camps from May to October, as well as their active participation in all NETS activities and events.
This recognition reflects our commitment to those students who demonstrate commitment and dedication daily.
The 14th Anniversary of NETS was a unique occasion to reflect on the positive impact of sports and education on the lives of these young people. We are proud to see how these values are strengthened and reinforced in each activity.
