In 2014, the junior tennis circuit Rafa Nadal Tour was set up, promoted by the tennis player to raise funds for the Rafa Nadal Foundation. The tournament, which is held annually and includes boys and girls Under-12 and Under-14 categories, was created with the aim of complementing sports competition with an educational aspect.
Training and activities are carried out in each tournament with the aim of fostering in the players fundamental values for their personal and sports development. Through these interactive, learning-oriented and fun activities, the four pillars of the Rafa Nadal Tour by Santander are developed: Sportmanship, Commitment, Effort and Fellowship.
In addition, the ‘Trofeo de Valores’ (The Value Trophy) was created, awarded to the player in each category who proves themselves to possess more positive values, and a more positive attitude and behaviour both on and off court, and granting them the eighth place to take part in the Master Final. Our wish is for participants to experience first-hand the values promoted by the Tour.
