Conclusion of the 4th Rafa Nadal Tour by Mapfre

The Masters event of the Rafa Nadal Tour by Mapfre, a junior tennis circuit which benefits the Rafa Nadal Foundation, drew to a close on Saturday 23rd September in Mallorca. The tournament brought together boys and girls from the Under 12 and Under 14 age groups that had qualified at six previous events held during the year. A total of 32 players took part in the battle to become the champions of this fourth edition.
For a second consecutive year, the Masters event of this influential Spanish circuit were held at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar in Manacor. Rafael Nadal, who on this occasion was unable to attend due to professional commitments, send a message of support to the players, saying, “I would love to be there with you, because some of the best memories of my life are from this stage that you are going through right now. Take advantage, have fun, and work hard.”
In parallel to the competition, during each tournament the players took part in ‘training in values’ which through a variety of activities and situations offers players tools to strengthen virtues such as effort, sportsmanship, camaraderie and achievement.
In all, 2,580 entries were made from 1,455 players (some of whom played more than one tournament) in this fourth edition of the circuit. The participants came from a total of 43 different countries.
