“Do Sport, Be Healthy” at the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre

The Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre in Palma is currently hosting a series of conferences and workshops that aim to promote sport as a source of health and of cultural and gender diversity. Entitled @Fes esport, Fes salut” [“Be Sporty, Be Healthy”], various interactive talks have been organised for children who are part of the project carried out by the Rafa Nadal Foundation in its centre, which is located in one of the city’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged areas.
This activity, which is a part of the community project of the Neighbourhood Association of Nou Llevant, is being held thanks to the collaboration of Dr. Sarmiento, a specialist in sports medicine and medical director of Juaneda Sport Health. “Initiatives like this one help to demystify sport as something elitist, and bring it closer to the adults of the future, regardless of their social or financial situation, gender, and so on..,” affirms Dr. Sarmiento.
The first part of the initiative was held on Monday and Tuesday, under the title “Move for your Health”. The second part will be held on Friday 8th June, when Dr. Sarmiento will be joined by the nutritionist Gemma Bes to tackle topics related to diet and nutrition, entitled “We Are What We Eat”.
