Charity golf, with Rafael Nadal and Jose María Olazábal
The charity golf tournament Olazábal & Nadal Invitational by Pula Golf Resort celebrated its 6th edition last weekend in Mallorca, where the tennis player Rafael Nadal and golfer José María Olazábal joined once more for social causes.
In this occasion, the Rafa Nadal Foundation will allocate the funds raised to the victims from the floods that affected the east coast of Mallorca last October 9th, which left 13 casualties and more than 10 million euros in material damage. Due to this situation, Rafael Nadal, through his organization, chose to help the people affected by the disaster instead of allocating the funds to his projects on education and sport.
From their part, the Basque golfer organization, Sport Mundi Foundation, has decided to donate the funds to two programs on assistance to children at social exclusion developed by Save the Children.
This pro-am competition, where professional golfers as well as amateurs have participated, was held in Son Severa (Mallorca) at the Pula Golf courses, which were designed by José María Olazábal himself. The team led by the Majorcan tennis player won the tournament.
