500 participants in the Rafa Nadal Foundation run in Palma, which has brought sport and solidarity together

On Saturday, April 6th, the Rafa Nadal Foundation charity run took place in Palma, and in this third edition counted with about 500 participants of all ages. Sport, fun and solidarity have been united in this event, with the purpose of raising funds for vulnerable children and youth who are assisted in the Rafa Nadal Foundation Center, located in one of the most deprived areas of the Majorcan capital, where the run passed by.
Under the name of “Millor Junts” (Better Together), the race had four different categories, each with different distances and formats, so any person could participate in this sports event. The categories were: children (750 m), junior (3 km), senior (7 km) and Nordic Walking (3 km). The starting point for all categories was at the Palma Congress Center, managed by Melià Hotels International. The awards presentation was conducted in the finish area, located in front of the Rafa Nadal Foundation Center, and it was livened up by Los 40 Principales (Top 40 radio program) and Katmandú Park mascot, among others.
In the award ceremony, 44 trophies and prizes were given: 42 for individual categories, for the first three classified at male and female categories in the different age groups; and 2 group prizes for the schools with greater participation. All the awards were handed over by Ana María Parera, president of the Rafa Nadal Foundation, and Lourdes Ripoll, associate vice president to the CEO and CSR of Melià Hotels International.

Along with the sponsorship from Melià Hotels International, there were many other companies that supported and helped to celebrate this third edition of the run, such as: Ravanetto, El Corte Inglés, Katmandú Park, Only Water, HotelSA, Rafa Nadal Sports Centre, Nike, ACB, ToyBoard, Technogym, Los 40 Principales, Leguas Producciones, Quely and Western Water Park. Moreover, “Millor Junts” had also the support of Fundación Diagrama, the Athletics Federation of Balearic Islands, Palma City Council and the Council of Mallorca.
