The Rafa Nadal Foundation, honored at the Doctors and Patients Awards
The Rafa Nadal Foundation has been one of the award-winning organizations at the 2nd edition of Doctors and Patients Awards, which are presented by the General Council of Official Colleges of Physicians. Specifically, the Foundation has been credited for the Best Social Action, regarding its project More Than Tennis.
The award ceremony, where the Foundation’s director Claudia Blasi was present, took place on the 27th of September in Madrid. Blasi expressed her gratitude to the award jury, as well as to the participants of the project More than Tennis, who are young people with intellectual disabilities: “Thank you for being an example of the sport’s nature: daily effort, self-improvement, team spirit with other players…”.
These awards aim to acknowledge actions carried out by institutions, organizations and entities that contribute to social cohesion, equal rights and social justice, especially in terms of health.
Other prizewinners at this 2nd edition where Luis Rojas Marcos, the National Police, Carlos III Health Institute, the Spanish Cancer Association, the Thalidomide Victims Association, the Spanish Confederation of Mental Health, Eduardo and Elsa Punset, the START Emergency Team (AECID) and the High Commission Against Child Poverty.
