Ana María Parera, president of the Rafa Nadal Foundation and María Francisca Perelló, director of the Rafa Nadal Foundation, attended the event “Sport breaks the circle” organized by the High Commissioner against Child Poverty and the Superior Sports Council at the framework of the Country Zero Child Poverty Alliance.

We have had the presence of the athlete Ana Peleteiro, the gymnast Ray Zapata and the paralympic athlete Desirée Vila who have talked about the importance of sport in the development and transmission of values during childhood.

The event held at the Palacio de la Moncloa on Thursday, September 29, 2021, chaired by Pedro Sánchez, President of the Government, aims to combat child poverty in Spain by making child poverty visible and placing it at the center of public debate.

Within the European Sports Week, the High Commissioner against Child Poverty and the Higher Sports Council promote this event to make visible the different actions on the conjunctural and structural causes of child poverty in Spain, articulating public policies with a perspective of vulnerable children with the objective that all children and adolescents in our country have the same opportunities for the future.

The Rafa Nadal Foundation we share the same objectives and that is why we are one of the 75 allies of this initiative that seeks to break the cycle of child poverty since all children have the right to grow up healthy, safe and happy, regardless its origin.

The Zero Child Poverty Country Alliance was born with two goals: to guarantee an inclusive and quality education and to create healthy, positive and safe environments.

With more than 10 years of experience, Rafa Nadal Foundation continues to join efforts to achieve these objectives, based on our education and development projects through sport.
