THE SECOND STAGE OF THE RAFA NADAL TOUR BY SANTANDER IN SEVILLE CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY, WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF 485 YOUNG TENNIS PLAYERS.
This Sunday, February 25th, marked the end of the second stage of the Rafa Nadal Tour by Santander at the Club Río Grande in Seville, featuring the under-12, under-14, and under-16 categories.
- The Rafa Nadal Tour by Santander continues to establish itself as the premier youth tennis circuit in the country.
- The circuit is charitable, with the entire registration fee being directed towards the development of projects by the Rafa Nadal Foundation in Spain and India.
The eleventh edition of the Rafa Nadal Tour by Santander is underway in eight cities across Spain (Barcelona, Seville, Valldoreix, Gran Canaria, Valencia, Madrid, Gijón, and Mallorca), where winners will be determined in the under-12, under-14, and under-16 categories for both male and female players.
The Rafa Nadal Tour by Santander has solidified its position as a leading tennis event in the country, not only due to its sporting prestige but also for its charitable commitment, directing the full value of registrations towards projects of the Rafa Nadal Foundation. This sports event not only assesses participants’ tennis abilities but also their attitudes and behaviors, both on and off the court, through value-based activities.
Rafael Nadal has expressed, “The intention was not simply to create another tournament, but one with added value,” and with this philosophy, the eleventh edition has been launched with the same passion as always.
Following nine days of intense competition, with 485 participants and 479 matches played in the second stage of the Rafa Nadal Tour by Santander at the Club Río Grande in Seville, champions have been crowned in the under-12, under-14, and under-16 categories, for both male and female players.
The winners of the Rafa Nadal Tour by Santander in Seville are as follows:
- Anna Orlando, in the under-16 female category
- Adolfo Abascal, in the under-16 male category
- Irene Basalo, in the under-14 female category
- Toni Escarda, in the under-14 male category
- Caterina López, in the under-12 female category
- Álvaro Monzón, in the under-12 male category
During this second stage, players also participated in value-focused activities, earning points for the ranking, which will allow four participants to compete in the master.
As the official sponsor of the tour, Banco Santander manufactures trophies awarded to the winners of each stage using recycled tennis balls from previous editions, thus contributing to the sustainability of the circuit.
