Rafael Nadal and his mother, Ana María Parera, created the Rafa Nadal Foundation in 2008.
From the beginning, sport and education are our best allies, which all our projects are based on.
In the Rafa Nadal Foundation we strongly believe in the transformative power of sport and education, two tools that allow children and teenagers to go as far as they can, regardless of their background or personal and social conditions, even for those who have learning difficulties or disability.
Our mission is based upon the belief that every child and youth should have access to equal opportunities now and in the future. Through our projects in Spain and India, we work alongside with them to make the most of their abilities, empowering them and fostering values such as self-improvement, respect and effort.
Tennis player Rafael Nadal is the founder trustee of the organization. He is strongly involved in the institution and not only he knows every project by first hand, but he as well participates in the decision making processes for the most important subjects as well as in the charity events organized by and for the Foundation.
Along with Rafael, the board of trustees is composed of the closest members in his family, as well as renowned personalities who pursue the same philosophy and values as he does.
The team that is working day by day in the Foundation is composed by experts from various fields and also counts with the cooperation of other external professionals.
Additionally, there are more than 100 people who take part in the different projects: coordinators, educators, coaches, specialists, social workers, volunteers, etc.
One of the main principles in the Rafa Nadal Foundation is to work under transparency guidelines.
Besides, it is important to note that the work at the Rafa Nadal Foundation is supervised by the Protectorate of Foundations, which monitors the legality in every action we carry out.
We review our work annually in this report, which consists of a summary of the main results, programs and activities that we carry out throughout the year.
