Bubble Pure Air have now become in an important tool also used by Doctors Without Borders (MSF) as a sterilized space to perform emergency surgeries in conflict or natural disaster context. The use of this system by MSF has been made possible thanks to the delivery of a first prototype by the Rafa Nadal’s Foundation and Zonair3D, the product creation company, to this medical and humanitarian organization.
"The market apparently offered several useful options, but none of them seemed to be fully adapted to the needs of MSF. We tested several prototypes of mobile structures, and finally, after multiple discussions and technical evaluations on usability, technical suitability and cost, in early 2011 we decided on Bubble Pure Air ", it was explained from the organization.
Although nowadays adjustments and improvements are been made in order to convert these small bubbles in mobile operating rooms, they have already been used on site in countries like Syria and the Philippines, after Haiyan’s Typhoon. Undoubtedly, this innovative product is proving to be a useful solution to the medical challenges in emergencies.
