Rafa Nadal couldn't thank people enough for their involvement in the charity match "Joining Forces for the Benefit of Children" yesterday. He thanked Roger Federer for supporting this initiative and for coming to Madrid to make the project a reality, a project that both players had first talked about over a year ago.
The day was full of surprises and the first of these was David Bisbal. The singer from Almeria roused the audience from their seats at the Caja Mágica to dance to Ave Maria, along with some other hits. David had the job of introducing Rafa on the court, where they had the chance to talk for a while. When Roger came on court after the draw, a photo was taken of the three personalities who had come together for a good cause. A group of children from the Foundation, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and many other familiar faces created a unique atmosphere at the Caja Mágica, organised to publicise the Rafa Nadal Foundation. The Foundation, with even more international recognition since yesterday, will continue to work on projects to help children with disabilities and those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and it plans to organise further fundraising events.
Give me a chance!
