The neighborhood of San Fermín, in the district of Usera, will host the new project of the Rafa Nadal Foundation.
The Rafa Nadal Foundation Center opens its doors in one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods in the south of Madrid to serve minors at risk of vulnerability and their families through sports, educational activities and psychosocial support.
This project is already underway in Palma de Mallorca and Valencia, but for a few months it has also been carried out in the capital, where it still did not have its own space to care for beneficiaries.
The educational activities and psychological support will be carried out in this new center, as well as the sports part will be carried out in a space provided in the facilities of the Caja Mágica, which is currently already being used by the team.
The Rafa Nadal Foundation Center in Madrid has the capacity to care for around 50 boys and girls from 5 to 17 years of age, who are derived from social services or other organizations of the social fabric of the area that consider that this resource is appropriate for them. , depending on the situation.
The inauguration was held on April 28, 2022 with the presence of Rafael Nadal, founding patron, María Francisca Perelló, director of the foundation, Begoña Villacís, deputy mayor of Madrid, and Jose Bogas, CEO of Endesa, the main financing company that has made this program possible.
The act has been carried out in the center's own space, with various guests who have been part in some way of this new project undertaken by the Rafa Nadal Foundation.
