The Rafa Nadal Foundation has been recognized at the Mediterranean Solidarity Gala promoted by 8TV Mediterráneo, for its work at the Rafa Nadal Foundation Center in Valencia, located in the Natzaret neighbourhood.
The event was held yesterday, June 16, in the Magistral Hall of the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, with the presence of Ximo Puig, president of the Generalitat.
It is an event that aims to recognize the work of different entities of the third sector that stand out for their work serving the most disadvantaged groups.
Among those recognized are different projects such as City of Hope, Moms in Action, Manos Unidas, Credimonte (Bancaja Foundation) and Levante UD 100 Anys Foundation. In addition, Laura García, creator of 'Vicky's Dream', a project for research against childhood cancer, has been honored.
On behalf of the Rafa Nadal Foundation, Andrés Raga, director of the Rafa Nadal Foundation Center in Valencia, attended to collect the award. In addition, he was accompanied by part of the team. Mariano Pillonetto, social worker, and Ana María Amo, sports technician at the center, wanted to participate in this act of recognition of their work and that of their colleagues.
During his speech, Andrés thanked this distinction granted by 8TV and claimed the great networking that is carried out in the Natzaret neighborhood between the different social entities and organizations in the area to support families in vulnerable situations.
After three courses working in the district, the Rafa Nadal Foundation Center has established itself in the Natzaret neighborhood as a valuable resource for residents. The comprehensive intervention carried out from the sports, educational and psychosocial areas offers great support to around 100 minors and their families.
