Rafa Nadal Foundation Centres celebrate the end of the school year by highlighting a year of learning, sport and support

The Rafa Nadal Foundation Centres in Palma, Valencia and Madrid have celebrated their end-of-year events with days full of emotion, recognition and togetherness alongside children, teenagers and their families.

These gatherings marked the conclusion of a very special academic year, in which more than 500 children and teenagers took part in the “Education and Sport” programme, an initiative that this year reaches its tenth edition and continues to establish itself as a benchmark for comprehensive and personalised support.

Through educational, sporting and psychosocial support activities, the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centres work every day to provide opportunities for personal development, promote positive values and create safe spaces where participants can grow, learn and build their future.

Palma: a celebration to recognise shared effort

The end-of-year celebration at the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre in Palma focused on recognising the work carried out throughout the year in a festive and participatory atmosphere.

The event began with an end-of-year dance performance led by the professional team and the dance group made up of children aged between 6 and 10, filling the gathering with joy and enthusiasm.

One of the most special moments was the presentation of diplomas to all age groups, accompanied by personalised messages of recognition. Diplomas were also awarded to families and to three individual participants, highlighting their commitment and involvement.

The celebration continued with raffles, the screening of the end-of-year video and different shared play spaces featuring activities such as chess, Parcheesi, card games, Goose Game and other board games.

In addition, the T-shirt design workshop allowed participants to write messages and dedications on each other’s shirts, creating unforgettable memories while encouraging integration and stronger relationships among everyone.

The day concluded with a healthy snack of fruit and ice cream, providing an opportunity for families, participants and the technical team to spend quality time together.

Valencia: recognition, participation and community

The Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre in Valencia held a warm and emotional end-of-year celebration attended by 184 participants.

During the event, seven children and teenagers who are celebrating five years at the centre were recognised for their journey and growth within the programme.

Participants also received their personalised “trading cards”, featuring the badges they had earned throughout the year for their participation, motivation and commitment to the values promoted through the activities.

Families also played a leading role. Special recognition was given to those who actively participated in the themed and healthy lifestyle workshops held throughout the year, and a diploma was presented to a group of grandmothers whose enthusiasm and involvement have made them a true example of commitment to the life of the centre.

One of the most dynamic moments of the day was the “activity bingo”, in which families answered questions related to the experiences shared throughout the year. To find the answers, they had to interact with other families, helping to strengthen connections and foster a sense of community.

The celebration ended with the “Hit Play” activity, a space where participants shared their memories and testimonials from the year, followed by a snack and an opportunity for informal conversation.

Madrid: “We Go Together”, a celebration of gratitude and farewells

Under the theme “We Go Together”, the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre in Madrid brought together 107 people for a day marked by participation, emotion and a strong sense of belonging.

The celebration began with a message of gratitude to all families and the presentation of a collaborative mural where attendees answered three questions: What does the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre in Madrid mean to you? What are you grateful for? What do you need for the next school year?

The responses conveyed heartfelt appreciation and recognition for the team and the work carried out throughout the year.

The traditional mothers’ competition then took place, giving participants the opportunity to put into practice everything they had learned during the functional training sessions held throughout the year. The activity was accompanied by the enthusiasm of the children, who cheered on their mothers with banners and messages of support.

One of the most emotional moments was the graduation ceremony for six teenagers who turned 18 this year and are completing their journey at the centre. During the event, one of them delivered a heartfelt speech that moved everyone present.

The day concluded with a shared snack and a space for conversation between families and professionals, further strengthening the bonds created throughout the year.

Among the testimonials collected during the celebration, one mother’s message stood out:

“I want to thank you for the incredible work you do. I have never felt so welcomed, so much a part of a family and so safe as I have this year. You are the best. We love you. And sorry for complaining so many times — especially about sports — it’s just a joke. I love taking part in all the activities.”

Ten years supporting and transforming lives

The end-of-year celebrations reflect the impact of a project that, ten years after its launch, continues to grow while providing comprehensive and personalised support to thousands of children, teenagers and their families.

At the Rafa Nadal Foundation, we would like to congratulate and thank all the professionals who, through their dedication, commitment and warmth, have supported more than 500 participants throughout this school year.

Special recognition goes to the directors of the three centres — Íñigo in Palma, Andrés in Valencia and Rosa in Madrid — for their leadership and daily commitment.

And, of course, our thanks go to the entire technical team, who become role models for children and teenagers every day and make the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centres safe, trusted spaces full of opportunities.

Thank you for making it possible. Together, we continue building the future through education and sport.
