{"id":63644,"date":"2019-06-27T07:57:00","date_gmt":"2019-06-27T07:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundacionrafanadal.quelinka.es\/noticia\/study-and-play-grants-2019-2020\/"},"modified":"2025-12-16T15:32:38","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T15:32:38","slug":"study-and-play-grants-2019-2020","status":"publish","type":"noticia","link":"https:\/\/www.fundacionrafanadal.org\/en\/news\/study-and-play-grants-2019-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Study and Play grants 2019-2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n\n\n<h2 class=\"alignwide has-medium-font-size wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:uppercase\">Study and Play grants 2019-2020<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fundacionrafanadal.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2019-entrega-becas-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8046\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This year,\u00a0<strong>25 young athletes<\/strong>\u00a0from different disciplines have been given grants worth\u00a0<strong>$ 110,000<\/strong>\u00a0through our program\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundacionrafanadal.org\/en\/proyecto-study-and-play.asp\">Study and Play<\/a><\/strong>, which will allow them to combine their training and a high level competition with their studies in\u00a0<strong>American Universities<\/strong>\u00a0next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>award ceremony<\/strong>\u00a0was held at the Tennis Real Club in\u00a0<strong>Barcelona<\/strong>\u00a0last Wednesday, where the grant-holders and their families gathered to receive the grants from Mar\u00eda Francisca Perell\u00f3, Director of Strategy and Relations with Institutions, and Marc Becker, director of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/i-consports.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I-Con Sports<\/a>, Spanish company engaged in sending athletes to universities in the United States. Rafa Nadal\u2019s manager and I-Con Sports associate Carlos Costa was present in the ceremony, as well as other former grant-holders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>This is the beginning of a\u00a0<strong>new period full of experiences, which will surely be a turning point in your careers<\/strong>, at an academic and sport level, as well as personally. It will be a challenging experience that will require continuous commitment, improvement and effort, but by giving your best, you will be rewarded<\/em>\u201d, Mar\u00eda Francisca Perell\u00f3 expressed to the holders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Rafa Nadal Foundation, in collaboration with I-Con Sports, created the Study and Play program in 2015, with the aim\u00a0<strong>to give Spanish young athletes the opportunity to combine their studies with a sport career<\/strong>, entering universities in the United States, where university sport has a major importance in society.
