At the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre in Madrid<\/a>, we wanted to commemorate International Women\u2019s Day throughout the month of March with different educational, sports and family activities that highlight the role of women in our closest environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since Wednesday, March 4, children, teenagers and families have been taking part in different initiatives designed to reflect on, share and celebrate the fundamental role that women \u2014 and especially mothers \u2014 play in the personal and social development of our participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mothers who participate, share and build community<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the most meaningful initiatives has been the participation of mothers in the educational and sports activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During these sessions, the family bond is strengthened and the role of mothers is highlighted through a very special activity. Children and teenagers were invited to recall a pleasant moment they shared with their mothers and represent it on a puzzle piece. All these pieces will form part of a collective mural entitled \u201cMy Safe Moment\u201d<\/strong>, a symbolic construction that reflects the memories, emotions and bonds that unite them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Promoting healthy habits with women taking the lead<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, March 9, a very special activity took place as part of the healthy habits programme. On this occasion, two mothers from the centre led the zumba session, in which other mothers who take part in the thematic workshops and the different healthy lifestyle groups also participated. The centre\u2019s team also joined the activity, creating a space for meeting and participation where knowledge and experiences related to wellbeing could be shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spaces for reflection and learning<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the month, two talks were also held with the Citizen Participation Group of the National Police. These sessions allowed participants to address topics of interest and continued to promote education in values, coexistence and active participation within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Promoting Women\u2019s Sport Through New Sports Activities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As part of this special program, sports activities were also promoted to strengthen confidence, autonomy, and participation of girls in sports. One example was the Wrestling and Self-Protection<\/em> activity, developed together with the Madrid Wrestling Federation, where participants had the opportunity to discover this discipline through age-appropriate dynamics. During the session, aspects such as personal safety, coordination, respect, and self-confidence were addressed, while also highlighting women\u2019s sport and encouraging girls to explore new sporting disciplines in a safe, educational, and inclusive environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A day to share with families<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The activities will conclude on Friday, March 13 with a family day, a moment designed to share and celebrate together with families everything experienced during these days. It will be an opportunity to strengthen bonds, enjoy the centre\u2019s activities together and continue building a community based on respect, equality and collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
