At the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre in Valencia, the Education and Sport Programme is running the 2025\u20132026 academic year under the motto \u201cPress Play\u201d, a proposal that reinforces the commitment to promoting a healthy use of leisure time.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This approach highlights the importance of fostering coexistence, face-to-face interaction and the wellbeing of children and adolescents, while also raising families\u2019 awareness of the digital environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within this framework, the educational team has delivered a workshop for families focused on the safe, healthy and responsible use of technology. The main aim of the initiative is to provide guidance and practical tools to support educational accompaniment in the digital context, as well as to prevent risks associated with internet use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session began by highlighting the importance of key transversal competencies such as effort, active participation, perseverance, respect and a positive attitude, and their direct link to digital education within the family environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This approach helped underline the key role of families as essential agents in the educational development of children and adolescents.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As part of the workshop methodology, the \u201cMask Game\u201d activity was carried out, an experiential exercise designed to demonstrate how easily a false identity can be created in the digital environment and how personal information can be accessed. This activity encouraged an initial reflection on the risks of identity theft and online exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was followed by the screening of audiovisual material that served as a turning point in the session, enabling a deeper analysis of the main digital risks affecting minors. Two main areas of risk were addressed: on the one hand, vulnerability to digital fraud, including fake profiles, deception, harassment or blackmail; and on the other, early exposure to inappropriate content, with special attention to its potential impact on emotional and social development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop adopted an educational rather than alarmist approach, emphasising the importance of accompaniment, supervision and education over prohibition. In this regard, practical strategies were shared to help families set boundaries, improve communication and detect early warning signs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, various parental control tools were presented, explaining their functionality in areas such as screen time management, app supervision and content filtering. Families were also provided with supporting infographic material to facilitate implementation at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session concluded with a group reflection space and a feedback survey, encouraging critical thinking and reinforcing families\u2019 commitment to digital education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These initiatives strengthen the meaning of the \u201cPress Play\u201d motto, understood as an invitation to promote more balanced lifestyles in which play, coexistence and shared time play a central role. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
