The Rafa Nadal Foundation has celebrated the launch of its first independent centre in Palma de Mallorca, where the organisation conducts a program of education and sport aimed at children and young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

Amongst those attending the inauguration on 14th December were the Foundation’s President, Ana María Parera, Founding Patron Rafa Nadal, and dignatories from a number of institutions: Francina Armengol, President of the Government of the Balearic Islands; José Francisco Hila, Mayor of Palma; Miquel Ensenyat, President of the Internal Council of Mallorca, amongst others.

At the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre the organisation carries out an educational program that is complementary to formal schooling and uses sport as a key tool for integration and personal development. Having opened its doors last October, the Centre currently attends to more than 140 children and their families.
