The Rafa Nadal Foundation held tonight at Finca Son Verí the awards ceremony for the 4th Rafa Nadal Foundation Awards, an event that, for the fourth consecutive year, has brought together social organizations, partners, and friends of the foundation to recognize projects that generate a positive impact on vulnerable groups.
The ceremony, hosted by journalist Susana Guasch, once again took place in Mallorca, a particularly meaningful setting for the foundation. The gala became an emotional and close-knit gathering that highlighted the work of social organizations which, from different fields, contribute to building a more just, inclusive, and supportive society.
The event was attended by Rafael Nadal, who closed the ceremony with a speech emphasizing the importance of collaboration between social organizations, companies, and citizens to multiply the positive impact of social initiatives.
In this fourth edition, the awards recognized the projects of Fundación También, Fundación Ecomar, Fundación Unoentrecienmil, Asociación de Voluntarios de Cuidados Paliativos Islas Baleares, and Beyond Suncare—organizations that promote innovative, high-impact initiatives in areas such as education, health, the environment, international cooperation, and social innovation. Thanks to the support of Telefónica, the main sponsor of the awards, each winning organization received €15,000 to continue developing its projects.
During the gala, the Special “Transformative Power” Award was also presented to Inter Movistar Futsal Club in recognition of its “Gira Megacracks” initiative, a program that uses sport as an educational tool to transmit values and promote healthy lifestyles among children and young people.
The ceremony took place in a warm and emotional atmosphere, marked by the celebration of social commitment and by a shared message among all attendees: building networks and combining efforts is key to advancing towards a more equitable society.
With this fourth edition, the Rafa Nadal Foundation Awards consolidate their role as a platform for support and inspiration for the third sector. Since their creation, the awards have granted €300,000, recognized 20 social organizations, and supported projects that benefit thousands of people, generating a significant positive impact both in Spain and internationally. The foundation thus reaffirms its commitment to promoting transformative social initiatives and is already looking ahead to the fifth edition of the awards.
Winning Projects – 4th Rafa Nadal Foundation Awards
Environmental Action: Fundación Ecomar
The “Grímpola Ecomar: Youth, Sport and Sustainability” project promotes environmental education and respect for nature among children and young people through nautical sports. The initiative integrates educational content and resources into participating centers, enabling environmental workshops and practical actions such as the sponsorship of natural spaces.
Through these activities, the program encourages healthy lifestyles and reinforces values such as environmental care, teamwork, and responsibility. Sport thus becomes a tool to raise awareness among young people about the importance of protecting the sea and the planet, actively involving them in the conservation of their natural environment.
Development Cooperation: Beyond Suncare
Beyond Suncare works to guarantee access to dermatological healthcare in Sub-Saharan Africa, with special attention to people with albinism, particularly children. The project aims to improve their quality of life through skin cancer prevention, health education, and collaboration with local institutions and professionals.
The initiative will directly benefit more than 700 people with albinism and their families through a comprehensive approach that includes specialized medical care, training of healthcare professionals, strengthening of health centers, and social awareness campaigns. In doing so, the project contributes to promoting equality, inclusion, and access to dignified healthcare in particularly vulnerable communities.
Health and Well-being: Asociación de Voluntarios de Cuidados Paliativos Islas Baleares
The “DIME” project aims to improve the emotional and physical well-being of people in advanced stages of illness and their families, strengthening the support work carried out by volunteers in palliative care units.
To this end, it incorporates new tools and activities that promote emotional relief, the creation of shared well-being spaces, and more humane care during hospital stays.
In addition, the project develops social awareness actions through meetings and video forums in different municipalities, with the aim of highlighting the right to comprehensive palliative care and promoting a culture of care, empathy, and compassion in society.
Education: Fundación También
“Todos Somos Únicos” (We Are All Unique) is an awareness program that promotes inclusion and coexistence from an early age, helping children recognize and value diversity. The project is carried out in educational centers through talks, testimonials, and participatory activities that bring the reality of disability closer in a positive and relatable way.
In addition, inclusive sports events are organized in which students with and without disabilities participate, fostering interaction, mutual respect, and empathy. These experiences help normalize diversity and encourage attitudes that promote a more just, accessible, and inclusive society for all.
Social Innovation: Fundación Unoentrecienmil
Fundación Unoentrecienmil is promoting in Spain the implementation of the international ALL Together protocol, a standardized treatment model for childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia in which several European countries participate, with the aim of increasing survival rates and reducing side effects.
Thanks to the foundation’s support, Spain has joined this protocol, allowing more patients to access more effective treatments and clinical standards comparable to those of countries with the best outcomes.
The initiative combines funding, advocacy work, and collaboration with the healthcare system to ensure the continuity of the program and to sustainably improve cure expectations and the quality of life of children with leukemia.
