During our Special Summer School at the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centers in Palma, Valencia, and Madrid, we organize activities that allow young people to explore, learn, and enjoy new experiences. Group excursions are always a highly anticipated event for the children. These outings not only provide a change of scenery but also promote teamwork. This year, one of the most notable excursions at the Rafa Nadal Foundation Center in Palma was the outing to the cinema to see the movie “Inside Out 2.” This animated feature film by Disney is much more than just a children’s movie; it is a powerful educational tool that helps children and adolescents understand the importance of emotions. The movie addresses topics such as identifying and managing emotions, teaching young people to recognize and navigate them at different times in their lives.

A Walk Full of Responsibility
From the Rafa Nadal Foundation Center to the cinema, all the groups walked several kilometers through Palma. This walk was not only a healthy physical activity but also a lesson in responsibility. The older children took care of the younger ones, demonstrating leadership and care. The walk was an excellent opportunity for the young people to become aware of the importance of responsibility.
After the walk and before entering the movie, we all enjoyed a snack together. Eating together is a simple but powerful activity that fosters communication and connection among participants. It was a moment of relaxation and fun, where the children could interact and get to know each other better in an informal setting.
The Role of Pre-Monitors
At the Special Summer School, some of the teenagers who have been with us for years have committed to helping us as “pre-monitors.” These young people have become positive role models for the younger children, helping them integrate into activities and serving as examples to follow. The pre-monitors play a crucial role in our excursions, as they help maintain order and ensure that all children are safe and actively participating. Their commitment and leadership are inspiring and demonstrate the positive impact our programs have on their lives.
